The Taiwan visa process depends on the visa route selected and the applicant’s eligibility. Travelers may apply through the eVisa, Travel Authorization Certificate, or sticker visa route where applicable.
Eligible travelers applying for a Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC) can complete the application online. The TAC is free of charge and allows a stay of up to 14 days for eligible applicants.
Applicants using the sticker visa route must prepare the required supporting documents and submit them physically at the Taiwan visa office in Delhi.
Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC)
A free online authorization available to eligible travelers who hold a valid or recently expired visa or residence permit from the qualifying countries listed in the reference information. It allows a stay of up to 14 days.

The TAC has specific additional eligibility requirements. Taiwan’s official guidance lists qualifying visas or residence documents from countries and regions including Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Schengen countries, the UK, and the US. Applicants who do not satisfy the TAC conditions may need to use another visa route.
The permitted stay depends on the applicable TAC conditions. Taiwan’s current immigration reference material shows TACs with multiple entry and specified stay periods, so travelers should follow the duration printed on their approved authorization rather than relying on a generic stay period.
